First, thank you for taking the time to answer this interview. Can you introduce yourself for those who don't know you yet ?
I began my career in 1991, fronting the alt-rock group Failure. We played together until 1997. In 1999, I started solo work under the name ON. Year of the Rabbit was the band I started in 2003, and now I’m releasing my first solo album as Ken Andrews.

What's behind this new album, Secrets of the lost Satellite ?
I really enjoy making records, and this one is no different. I’m excited because there's a lot of creativity behind it, I got to work with my friends, and the process was very liberating for me.

You played in many bands, of which you were often the main instigator. What made you decide to make this time a 'solo' album ?
This is where I am in my career. I was really able to use my skills as a songwriter to take this album to a whole new level.

Can you introduce the people who worked with you on this album, and the reason you chose them ?
Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Jordon Zadorozny co-produced the album with me. Beck’s live band (Brian Lebarton, Matt Mahaffey, Matt Sherrod and Justin Stanley) also came into the studio to play on the record. I trust Justin and Jordon, they are two of my longtime collaborators, and I have a great time working with them.

And what are your interests at the moment ? (musical or not)
I’m getting ready to go on tour again. It has been a long time since I've been on the road promoting my own material. It’ll be fun.

Your new album must be a priority right now, but do you have other projects you're working on ?
I'm working with a band called Thousand Foot Krutch. I'm also working on tracks for Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy.

Can you talk about Dinosaur Fight Records and Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy ?
Dinosaur Fight Records is the label I started with my wife, Charlotte Martin, last year. Her album Stromata came out on September 12th, 2006, and mine will be in stores March 13th, 2007 and available on digital outlets on February 27th, 2007. Los Angeles Digital Noise Academy is the digital band I started, and they are also signed to my label. A few music streams are on our MySpace, and we have about 5 songs done for our album.

Is there a period of your career (composer and producer) you're particularly proud of, or nostalgic about ?
Every day is a new adventure for me. I’m proud of what I do, but most importantly, I want to make music good music.

Because you did a lot of works in relation with Tool's people - the "Hush" video, tours, Replicants, A Perfect Circle... -, I'd like to know how you met them and about this long relation with them ?
We all got along, and our musical tastes and styles aligned. It made sense for us to work together.

I think that you're underestimated. How do you feel about this ? Do you get the attention/praise your deserve ?
I'm here to make good music. I can keep coming back as long as the fans keep coming back.
